Party Definition

What is Party in the context of PBMy?

In the context of the Parlimen Belia Malaysia (PBMy), a party refers to a youth organisation registered with the Parliament of Malaysia as an education and training platform that enables young people to participate in the democratic process in a more structured, inclusive, and organised manner. The party serves as a medium to bring together members with shared interests and aspirations to discuss youth-related issues and propose ideas or policies that benefit society.

Through this party system, members can collaborate to develop shared perspectives, build leadership capacity, and nominate their representatives as PBMy Members. It also provides an opportunity for young people to gain a deeper understanding of how representative systems and democratic processes function within a parliamentary institution.

Although, parties in PBMy is not a true party politic and are not engaged in national political party activities. All PBMy parties are non-partisan and are established solely for the purposes of democratic education, youth leadership development, and the constructive participation of young people in policy discussions.

To ensure political neutrality, parties within PBMy are also prohibited from using the names, symbols, or identities of any real political parties. In addition, the establishment of these parties does not require registration under the Registrar of Societies (ROS), as they operate solely within the official ecosystem of the Malaysian Youth Parliament. Overall, the party system within PBMy aims to create a safe and professional space for young people to learn about democracy, develop leadership skills, and express the aspirations of the younger generation in a structured and effective manner.
